Here at HFCC we know that the choice of a summer camp is an important one. We are always eager to talk with parents. E-Mail or phone us with any questions you might have. If you have a minute, take a look at these short movie clips - they'll give you a lot of information about us in a short amount of time:

To help you make your decision, we want you to know the following facts about Camp Cherith.
- We are an interdenominational Christian camp. We strive to teach and model the integration of faith and life. We use an age-graded, action-oriented Bible curriculum. We want to teach in ways the campers learn best! Camp Cherith complements the Pioneer Clubs program and reinforces its goals and values.
- Children may begin coming to summer camp after 2nd grade. For first graders, Parent-Child weekends are great "starter experiences."
- We operate on a "small-group" focus. Seven to nine campers live in each cabin or tent with a counselor. We have a non-competitive orientation - allowing each child to strive to meet their own goals, experience success and thereby enhance their self-esteem. Generally, there are over 100 campers in-camp and 25-35 mature, Christian, trained staff.
- We are VERY SELECTIVE about our staff! There is an extensive application, interview, & reference checks (including a pastoral recommendation). It is not "just a job" ....it's a way of giving ... of making a difference! Staffing inquiries (Employment opportunities) should be directed to the Camp Director. Parents are invited to apply for a one-week staff position. Salaries can be applied to camper fees.
- Safety is a prime concern. Every precaution is taken to insure a healthy stay. For emergencies, a nurse is always on site. The hospital and doctor's office are approximately 17 miles away.
- We are accredited by the American Camping Association - revealing that we are striving for excellence in all facets of camp. We have a 65-year history of enriching children's lives.
- We want to be available to you. Feel free to call or email us with any questions, discuss concerns, or to share words of encouragement. This "family" approach to camping is one of the things that makes Huron Forest Camp Cherith special. It is our desire to give your child the best Christian camping experience possible.
