whatitis

Are you horse crazy? This disease - ok, it's not a disease - this affliction or condition occurs in children (especially girls, but boys get it too) who love, adore, and can't live without our four-legged equine friends. . . HORSES! Symptoms include the desire to spend every waking moment with horses and at night dream about riding the Black Stallion or Hidalgo to some exotic location. If this sounds like you or someone you know, we have the cure. . . HORSE CAMP!

This is an intense week of equestrian training. Learn proper horse care, spend many hours in the saddle improving your riding skills, and advance through Camp Horse Association (C.H.A.) levels.

Here are some things you need to know about HFCC's Horse Camp:

  • Campers must have completed the 8th grade
  • Campers must have completed C.H.A. Elementary 2 or higher or have equivalent stable riding experience
  • This program is co-ed, boys and girls being housed in separate locations on campus
  • Activities may include: a trail ride to the Lumberman's Monument dunes, a visit/tour of a veterinarian's office, first-hand experience with the work of a farrier, movies, and campfires
  • Limited to 8 campers - so sign up today before we're full!

As far as how the daily schedule, this is what we have planned.
